2017 Toyota RAV4
Mileage94,214Service Date10/28/2025Services Performed- Customer complaint of overheat condition. Checked coolant level. Coolant is full but there is evidence of her getting a touch warm and spraying coolant from the degas over pressure release. Pressure tested system to verify there was no leaks. While the pressure test system was working I took the time and removed the coils and spark plugs to get a good idea on how healthy the engine is. Spark plugs look good for 100k spark plugs. No evidence of coolant entering combustion. Went ahead did a block check and check for combustion gasses entering the cooling system. No evidence of such failure. While the vehicle was getting up to temp I turned on the ac system to see how well it was working. And it’s not working well. Check the cooling fans for activity. Hooked up the scanner and commanded the cooling fans on. Cooling fans did not activate. While commanded on manually pushed cooling fan to start turn. They did turn under their own power but very slowly. Cooling fans have failed. Needs a cooling fan assembly.
