    • PRESSURE CK COOLING SYSTEM. HAD TO REMOVE THE AIR TUBE FROM THE THROTTLE BODY TO THE AIR FILTER TO GAIN ACCESS. THE WATER PUMP IS LEAKING COOLANT. IT HAS BOTH DRIVE BELTS SOCKED IN COOLANT. NEED TO FIX THE COOLANT LEAK SO I CAN TEST FOR EXHAUST GASSES IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. I SCANNED THE VEHICLE. NO ENGINE CODES, NO FREEZE FRAME.

    • I REMOVED THE AIR BOX TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK. I CK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND IT IS FULL AND DARK. WHEN I HAD THE AIR BOX OFF I FOUND THAT THE AIR FILTER WAS VERY DIRTY. I REPLACED IT. I LIFTED THE VEHICLE AND CK FOR LEAKS. I FOUND THAT THE SEAL ON THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN IT AND THE TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING. I REMOVED THE INSPECTION COVER AND CK TO SEE IF THE PUMP SEAL IN THE TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING BUT IT WAS DRY. THE TRANSFER CASE SEAL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE INPUT SEAL NEEDS REPLACED. THE OUT PUT SEAL IN THE TRANSMISSION TO THE TRANSFER CASE ALSO NEEDS REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS SERVICED.

    • Scanned vehicle found the following codes. P0430 Cat efficiency below threshold bank 2 P2005 intake Manifold runner control stuck open P2008 intake manifold runner control circuit open bank 1 With scan tool monitored the PID for the iMrc monitors for bank one and two. Bank 1 appears to operate correctly showing 1.38v at idle. Bank 2 seems a little low at 1.14v but within spec. With the scan tool commanded the iMrc solenoids to activate. Bank 1 ranges 1.38v open and 3.78 activated. Back 2 however seats at 1.16v when activated. Need permission to remove I take to diagnose mechanical failure or electrical failure. Removed intake manifold from engine to gain access to the vacuum solenoids. Position sensors. Checked for mechanical movement and both banks move freely with some spring resistance. Checked for solenoid continuity. Bank 1 control circuit shows an open and the bank 2 inch s the side not moving. Quite possibly the connector for bank 1 and 2 actuators got switched. Recommend replacing both solenoids.

I CAN HEAR A VACUUM LEAK. I CK AND FOUND THE VACUUM HOSE TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS NOT PUT BACK ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. I PUT IT BACK ON AND NOW THE VEHICLE WILL IDLE AND THE BRAKES FILL BETTER. I CLEARED THE CODES. I STARTED THE ENGINE AND LET IT GET UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE. I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE. P0420 BANK 1 CATALYST EFFICIENCY BELOW LIMIT. I CLEARED THE CODES AND RESET KEEP ALIVE MEMORY. I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND IT SET THE P0420 CODE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING GOOD AT THIS TIME. THE BRAKES ARE WORKING PROPERLY AT THIS TIME.

    • I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE. I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND THEN IN LOW GEAR. I GAVE IT GAS AND IT STARTED TO PULL IT SELF AFTER A FEW MINUTES AT 1200 RPM. I GOT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE. I CK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. IT IS FULL. THE FLUID IS DARK AND SMELLS BURNED. SOMETHING IN THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED.

    • Customer states ck misfires on cylinder 5 Drove vehicle into shop. Loud audible knock can be heard. Scanned vehicle no codes in system. Must have been previously deleted. Removed number 5 plug. Plug looks fine. Ran a bore scope into the cylinder no left open valve cannot confirm broken valve spring. Allowed vehicle to run. Noise is coming from the lower end checked for damage at the flex plate. Flex plate looks fine noise still on lower rear of engine. Loaded engine up to determine noise location. Definitely at the lower end of engine. Drained oil to see if there is any metal in the crank case, and found metal in the oil. This is rod bearing knock. Truck needs an engine.
